Position Overview

The Paraprofessional supports teachers and students by providing instructional assistance, reinforcing classroom learning, and helping maintain a positive educational environment. This position works with individual students and small groups while supporting the overall success of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups with academic activities and learning objectives.
• Support classroom instruction and reinforce concepts introduced by the teacher.
• Monitor students in classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, field trips, and other school settings.
• Assist with classroom organization, instructional materials, and record keeping.
• Promote positive student behavior and a safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student success.
• Observe and communicate student progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Participate in training, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 college credit hours or passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis Exam.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• MMR documentation required.
• Experience working with children in educational, childcare, recreational, or age-related settings preferred.
