The Utica City School District is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the following vacancies:

Teaching Assistant

Department: CTE (Career and Technical Education)
Subjects/Pathways: EV Automotive Technology; Construction Technologies

Description:

The CTE Teaching Assistant supports classroom and laboratory instruction under the direction of a certified teacher. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic and hands-on learning activities, preparing instructional materials, monitoring student progress and behavior, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, and support the use of tools, equipment and technology. The Teach Assistant also helps reinforce employability skills, assist with work-based learning and performs related clerical and organizational tasks.

Qualifications:

• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (any level), required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with students in educational, technical or vocational settings preferred.
• Experience in Career and Technical Education, Construction or Electric Vehicle Automotive.
• Ability to support student success, workplace readiness, career explorations and safety.
• OSHA 10 certification must be completed prior to 10/1/2026. To be provided by the District.

• Union: SEIU
• 35-hours per week, full-time
