Substitute Teacher Aide

VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is now accepting applications for Guest Teacher Aides (Substitutes).

JOB SUMMARY: The Guest Teacher Aide is responsible to the building administrators and the Human Resources Department for assisting the teacher in a variety of semi-instructional tasks; to work primarily in a general educational setting providing support to a student or students with significant disabilities within the classroom and around the building; must be able to assist with communication, scheduling, and modifications of curriculum and student may require toileting, feeding and lifting.

• QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of curriculum materials and instructional techniques
• Initiative to follow through with assigned tasks
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to maneuver students
• Evidence of a Statement of Approval from the Will County Regional Office of Education to serve as a teacher aide with license registered in Will County, or a teaching certificate registered in Will County
