Substitute Instructional Aide Job Description

Job Goal: To assist the classroom teacher achieve teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill level of the class a whole.

Qualifications:

• A satisfactory criminal background check
• High school transcripts (must provide)
• 23 years of age or separation of 4 years from high school

Expectations:

• Effectively communicate with students.
• Demonstrate necessary organizational skills.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
• Alerts the regular teacher to any problems or special information about an individual student.
• Assists with the supervision of students.
