Instructional Associate

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required
REPORTS TO: Certified Teacher and Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist teachers in creating a classroom and school environment in which all students are provided the necessary supports to be successful academically, socially, and emotionally.

PERFORMANCE REPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists individual children with special needs.
• Assists in the preparation of classroom activities.
• Implements behavior intervention plans.
• Administers, scores, and records assessments recommended by the certified teacher for individual students.
• Works with small groups of students to reinforce academic content taught by a teacher.
• Assists certified teacher with non-instructional classroom duties such as classroom procedures, bulletin boards, attendance, copying, lunch supervision, playgroup supervision, and arrival and dismissal supervision.
• Records data to provide information regarding students' I.E.P. goals.
• Assists substitutes assigned in the absence of the certified classroom teachers.
• Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.
• Assists with school sponsored activities.
• Demonstrates a positive enthusiastic demeanor when working with students, staff, and parents.
• Performs other functions according to the need of the school at the direction of a certified teacher of building administrator.
• Is punctual and maintains a good attendance record.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state and board
regulations/policies by the building principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Ten month year.

Salary: The salary for this position shall be set in accordance with the negotiated salary guidelines in the VTEA agreement, https://www.voorhees.k12.nj.us/our-district-09/employment-opportunities/emplyment-contracts
