26-27 Substitute Teacher

If you are a new substitute to BISD, please submit this application. Our next sub training will be at the ALC, 1101 17th St. on September 3, 2026 at 9 am. We look forward to seeing you there. Please bring your driver's license, social security card and high school transcript or college transcripts. If you were a substitute with BISD last year during the month of April or May, you do not need to fill out this application.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, plus the minimum of 12 college hours required.

Employee must pay a non-refundable fee of approximately $40.00 and have a satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.

Organization skills; Communication skills; Ability to work with students of all ages; Willingness to follow directives

Physical/Mental Demands
Withstand demands of working with students and faculty.

Documents must be provided upon application submission:
Two letters of character reference, copy of your college transcripts, and a copy of applicable teaching certification(s).
