Van Driver

Essential Functions

● Complete a safety check of the school van as required by the State of Ohio Regulation 3301-83-11 before each run.

● Responsible for safe operating conditions and cleanliness of the van.

● Maintain routes, stops and time schedules as established by the supervisor. Make suggestions for more efficient routing but permission must be granted by the transportation supervisor prior to any change.

● Prepare and maintain reports, route maps, schedules, pupil lists and accident reports as required by the State of Ohio, Ohio Department of Education and the Board of Education.

● Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner.

● Conduct other duties as assigned by the administration.

Education and Experience

● Valid driver's license with school van certification.

● High school diploma or equivalent.

● Must meet requirements of the Ohio Department of Education and the district’s Board Policy.

● Completion of satisfactory van certification program by a WLS Transportation Trainer.

● Be physically qualified as determined by annual physical examination required by the State of Ohio.

● Passage of the required drug test and passage of random drug tests.

● Possess BCI and FBI clearances and enroll in Rapback

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

● Must conform to the ODE physical qualifications for school van drivers.

● Demonstrates reliability, timeliness and good attendance.

● Demonstration of and commitment to Washington Local School District’s Portrait of Panther Competencies: Empathy, Communication, Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity, and Learner’s Mindset.
