Position Overview

Lunch/Recess Monitors report directly to the building Principal and are responsible for supporting the daily management of student safety in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas.

Compensation:

• $17.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise students during lunch periods.
• Assist in supervising students on the playground and/or designated recess areas.
• Work in both outdoor environments and standard school settings.
• Ensure established rules are followed; report concerns to appropriate personnel when necessary.
• Monitor orderly dismissal and arrival procedures.
• Assist students during lunchtime, including food purchases, distribution, cleanup, and ensuring proper handwashing.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Adhere to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct at all times.

• Strong problem-solving abilities to address daily situations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policies, laws, and regulations.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
