Substitute Bus/Lunch/Recess Monitor
2026-2027 School Year

Position Overview:
Monitors report directly to the building principal and are responsible for supporting the daily supervision and safety of students in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas.

Compensation:

• $17.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, and lunch periods
• Assist with supervision during recess on the playground or other designated areas
• Work in both outdoor environments and standard school settings
• Ensure established rules are followed and report concerns to appropriate personnel
• Support orderly arrival and dismissal procedures
• Assist students during lunch, including food distribution, purchases, disposal, and handwashing
• Maintain cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Adhere to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct

• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policies and applicable laws
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
