License Practical Nurse
Requirements:
Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department from a course approved by such department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Possession of a current license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Possession of a current CPR certificate.

Assigned Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Telehealth interactive medical record use and entry.
Assists the School Physician in physical examinations. Administers scoliosis, visual and auditory screening examinations for students.
Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees.
Orders, inventories and oversee the storage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment. Keeps all equipment in working order.
Keeps medications secure in locked cabinet.
Is alert to the needs of students with learning or behavioral problems, consulting with other professionals where appropriate, providing additional attention for students in need of assistance.
Works with the Director of Physical Education and Athletics to ensure that all athletes are "cleared" for participation.
Provides health related information to the Committee on Special Education as requested.
Provides an environment conducive to privacy, confidentiality and efficiency in school nursing practice.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
