You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED Obtain a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification from the BACB Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to relate positively with students, parents, and staff members Ability to instruct and manage student behavior Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Major Responsibilities and Duties: Management Skills/Provision of Services 1. Coordinates with supervising Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, campus administration, teachers, and related service providers. 2. Teach and facilitate essential skills such as functional communication, social and adaptive skills, and more. 3. Provide therapy using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques and principles. 4. Meticulously collect and graph data based on treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts. 5. Maintains confidentiality. Collaboration Skills 6. Displays professionalism when dealing with students, parents, and staff. 7. Collaborates with other professionals in matters relevant to student needs. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Professional Effectiveness 9. Acquires new skills and knowledge consistent with the standards of the profession. 10. Supports the school district’s philosophy and objectives. 11. Uphold BACB ethical guidelines. 12. Demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of district programs and staff. 13. Obtain and Maintain certification consistent with the profession's standards; maintain a copy of the current certificate with the WISD Department of Special Education. Personal Effectiveness 14. Supervisory Responsibilities None Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; other specialized and adaptive equipment used by students Posture: Frequent standing; kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Motion: Frequent walking and reaching Lifting: Frequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning students with physical disabilities; controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting non-ambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipment. Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases) Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
