Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED equivalent Valid Texas instructional aide certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communications skills Ability to work well with children Experience: Some experience in instruction or training preferred. Major Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Strategies: • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, and administrative regulations, and state and local board policy. • Prepares instructional materials and classroom displays. • Works with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises. • Instructs students in the preparation of special arts and craft projects. • Assists in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom. • Maintains inventory of art room supplies Student Management: 7. Keeps the other teachers informed of any special needs or problems of individual students. 8. Assists in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom and bus duty. Student Management: 9. Participates in in-service training programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as needed. 10. Performs other related duties assigned. 11. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
