Part-Time Tutor III (As Needed Pool)

• Associates degree or higher
• At least 6 credit hours in area of tutoring assignment
• B+ or higher in course to tutor
• Overall GPA of 2.5 or better
• At least one (1) year of tutoring, teaching or instructional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bilingual – English/Spanish

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Mastery of course(s) being tutored
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Capable of working with both faculty and students
• Ability to be empathetic to students with difficulties
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Possess good interpersonal skills to perform successfully in a multicultural environment
• Ability to be well organized, task-oriented and flexible
• Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends at various locations

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee typically works in an office/library learning center environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office or library. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.
