Sr. Laboratory Technician - Building Construction #11673

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Vocational Certificate with emphasis in Machining or CNC or closely related field.
• Six (6) months of work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists Instructor in lab to oversee students in safe operation of lab equipment in compliance with college rules and guidelines; monitors students and lab activity for any safety violations and reports violations to supervisor.
• Prepares/sets up lab for classes; includes cutting material to be used in labs; setting up shop equipment, and maintaining cutting toll inventory, notifying supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Cleans, checks and performs maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal functioning; maintains equipment maintenance records for area of responsibility.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups.
• Must be able to exercise good judgement and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multi-task environment maintaining positive customer relations.
• Must supervise students in a lab environment.
• Must maintain, repair and handle tools and tools supplies, as well a demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures for students.
• Ability to use a computer, and understand communications, instructions, regulation and procedures.
