About this role

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Art, Art History, Photography, or a closely related field and four (4) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in accordance with Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Experience in a professional or gallery setting preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation, design organization and installation of temporary and permanent exhibitions.
  • Provide art handling, packing, shipping and scheduling assistance for temporary and permanent exhibitions.
  • Assist with daily museum operations including maintenance, security, facilities, museum construction and maintenance activity.
  • Produce exhibition wall text, interpretive panels, signage, didactic labels, gallery notes, visitor packets and other support materials.
  • Provide technical and organization support for museum programs, classes and lectures.
  • Provide technical digital imaging support for museum programs, classes and lectures.
  • Provide technical digital support for museum exhibitions, brochures, print and calendar materials.
  • Produce visual, video and other asset creation derived from exhibitions or collections for museum publicity and marketing activities.
  • Maintains record system: processes daily paperwork including reports, memos, and requisitions. Monitor and record appropriate environmental conditions in all exhibition, collection, preparation and study areas.
  • Provide technical and organizational support to college and K-12 faculty to develop educational materials. Assist college faculty, staff, students and other visitors as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate records of all exhibitions, program activities, including statistics, sample works, photographic documentation, archives and ephemera.
  • Supervises trains and evaluates support staff, student interns and workers. Responds to inquiries and/or concerns from students, staff, or the general public to solve problems or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and record appropriate environmental conditions in all exhibition, collection, preparation and study areas. Other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Operate a PC or Mac, keyboard and mouse, and sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as word processing and spreadsheets and have strong organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or Premiere Pro.
