Term, Non-tenure-line Instructor, Welding

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Welding Engineering Technology or a closely related field.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or other recognized welding industry credentials.
• Experience with AWS and/or ASME welding codes, standards, welding procedure specifications, and welder qualification requirements.
• Experience with welding inspection and testing methods, including visual inspection and destructive testing.
• Experience with advanced welding applications, automated or robotic welding systems, or other emerging welding and manufacturing technologies.
• Teaching or training experience, particularly in higher education, apprenticeship, Workforce Development, or industrial settings.
• Evidence of initiative in areas such as curriculum development, laboratory development, industry partnerships, student mentoring, recruitment and outreach, project leadership, or committee work.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Engineering & Technology faculty and Workforce Development staff to maintain and develop curriculum aligned with current industry needs and recognized welding standards. Responsibilities will also include supporting safe, organized, and effective welding laboratory environments; assisting with welding equipment and laboratory operations; participating in student recruitment and outreach activities; and developing and maintaining relationships with regional employers, schools, and industry partners.

The successful candidate will be expected to support a student-centered, hands-on learning environment that prepares graduates for employment, continued education, and industry-recognized welding qualifications and certifications. The position will also actively participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives and contribute to the continued development and growth of the Welding Technology program and the Manufacturing Technology Institute (MTI).
