Job Summary

The Adjunct Commercial Driver License Instructor – Level II has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom and field instruction. The Adjunct Commercial Driver License Instructor – Level II is also responsible for teaching Class A & B vehicle safety, safety check off, equipment maintenance, and Department of Transportation regulations. Assigned classes may occur during the day or evening with varying teaching locations. This position reports to LSCPA’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction
• Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
• Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
• Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
• Comply with campus policies and procedures
• Other related duties, as assigned

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A
• Three (3) years of demonstrated commercial driving experience

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements:
Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 40 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and field settings.
