Job Summary

The Cook for Seawall Café has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, preparation of food and beverages at the café and routine cleaning. This is a non-exempt position that reports to LSCPA’s Seawall Café Department.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, cooking, and garnishing of food items
• Routinely clean all appliances, shelving, utensils, counters, freezers, refrigerators, etc.
• Assist with grocery list and purchasing of necessary café supplies at local stores
• Restock items in proper placement
• Assist with proper storage, labeling and rotation of food items following deliveries
• Answer telephone calls, inquiries, and catering requests
• Comply with campus policies and procedures
• Other related duties, as assigned

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Food Handler’s Certification
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in food preparation and service, with quantity cooking, in a state institution or commercial food service establishment

Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements:
Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 50 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity is required to perform major job functions.
