Position Overview

Rider University invites applications for the position of Director of Clinical Internships. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Humanities, Sciences and Education, this individual will provide leadership for graduate clinical and field placements across the College of Humanities, Sciences and Education's clinical mental health counseling (including the dance/movement therapy concentration), school counseling, school psychology, and nursing programs. The position also provides support for teacher education programs, and works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean, faculty, and program leaders to coordinate and strengthen clinical and field placement experiences and external partnerships.

The Director coordinates placement processes and tracking, supports certification and accreditation requirements, and manages confidential student records and documentation associated with clinical and professional experiences. The position works closely with students, faculty, clinical and school-based partners, cooperating professionals, and district and organizational administrators to support successful placement experiences. The Director also contributes to professional development, special events, and other initiatives related to clinical placements and partnerships.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Master's degree in counseling or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating clinical, internship, practicum, field, or other professional placements.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop, and sustain partnerships with schools, healthcare organizations, community agencies, and other external partners.
• Knowledge of accreditation, licensure, certification, and/or regulatory requirements associated with professional preparation programs.
• Ability to manage multiple programs, placement cycles, deadlines, and stakeholder needs simultaneously.
• Experience planning and coordinating orientations, professional development, workshops, or other student and partner programming.
• Strong organizational, analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and report data for accreditation, assessment, program review, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, administrators, external partners, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, establish priorities, and respond effectively during peak workload periods.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team member, contribute to a collegial work environment, and build productive working relationships across academic programs, University offices, and external organizations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canvas, and database or assessment-management systems; ability to learn additional technology platforms as needed.

• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
