Bus Driver - Route and/or Extracurricular Activites

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Driver for both route and extracurricular activities. This position requires a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school, as well as to various extracurricular events. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a passion for working with children.

• Responsibilities
• Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Transport students to and from school, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized bus interior, performing routine inspections and maintenance checks.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any changes.
• Monitor student behavior on the bus to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
• Support extracurricular activities by providing transportation for sports events, field trips, and other school-related functions.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including daily logs, incident reports, and maintenance records.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay current with safety protocols and regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, ensuring student safety at all times.

• Requirements
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for passenger transport (P&S).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience driving a bus or large vehicle preferred.
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
• Physical ability to assist students as needed and perform routine bus maintenance tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends for extracurricular activities.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Background check and drug screening required.
