Algebra Teacher

Summary
Grapeland High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Algebra Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This full-time position involves teaching algebra courses to high school students, developing engaging lesson plans, and implementing effective instructional strategies to enhance student understanding and performance in mathematics.

• Responsibilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for algebra.
• Teach a range of algebra topics, including but not limited to linear equations, inequalities, functions, polynomials, and quadratic equations.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and promote student engagement.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and quizzes, providing timely feedback to support student growth.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in mathematics education and instructional technology.
• Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate interdisciplinary approaches to learning and support school-wide initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
• Supervise and mentor students during extracurricular activities and school events as needed.

• Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid teaching certification in mathematics for high school level.
• Proven experience teaching algebra or related mathematics courses at the high school level.
• Strong understanding of algebraic concepts and the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance teaching and learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
