Substitute Teacher's Aide

A Teacher’s Aide supports teachers in delivering instruction by managing students, and maintaining a positive learning environment. They assist with academic, behavioral, and administrative tasks to help ensure students succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with physical care tasks and health related activities as appropriate;
• Assist students with behavioral/management needs;
• Assist with daily classroom setup/preparation as directed by the teacher;
• Help students navigate the school environment;
• Assist students in the use of assistive technology/instructional resources;
• Provide student testing accommodations/modifications;
• Review previous lessons and concepts previously taught by the teacher;
• Collect various student data as directed by the teacher (e.g. behavior intervention plans, IEP goals, classroom management system, etc.);
• Become familiar with the student(s) IEP;
• Communicate effectively with teacher and necessary staff members;
• Foster student independence.
