Position Type: ~3 Month Leave Replacement (with permanent substitute teaching position to follow through June)
Reports To: Building Principal

Position Overview

Jeffrey Ratner Robert Seaman Elementary School in the Jericho School District is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and student-centered educator to join our elementary team as a 3rd/4th Grade Leave Replacement Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes academic growth and social-emotional development during the regular teacher's temporary absence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction across core elementary subjects, including ELA, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Maintain instructional continuity by implementing established curriculum while adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs and accommodation plans (IEPs/504s).
  • Collaborate closely with grade-level peers, specialized staff, and administration to align with school-wide learning goals.
  • Communicate proactively and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student growth and classroom updates, including leading Parent Teacher Conferences.

Qualifications

  • Valid NYS Teaching Certification for Elementary Education 1�6.
  • Evidence of lesson planning aligned with state standards integrating learning targets and engagement protocols.
  • Proficiency with instructional technology (e.g., interactive displays, Google Classroom, learning platforms).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
