Job Description
Primary Purpose
Provide local program support, report writing, data validation, and training for Skyward Qmlativ Student System application.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree or technology courses with 3-years work experience in related field (and High School Diploma or GED)
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS)
Knowledge of student systems applications (Skyward Qmlativ Student)
Knowledge of report development tools (Skyward Qmlativ Student Data Mining and Reporting)
Knowledge of the TSDS PEIMS reporting requirements, Unique ID, enrollment, attendance, grading, scheduling, and student data reporting processes.
Ability to design, build, modify, and maintain custom reports using the Skyward Qmlativ Report Designer tool
Ability to utilize the Skyward Qmlativ Data Miner tool to query complex, cross-functional datasets
Ability to validate data accuracy and data integrity
Ability to provide departmental and campus support related to training and reporting
Ability to develop and maintain systems documentation and technical assistance manuals
Ability to detect and resolve problems in application software
Ability to provide quality application software training
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
Strong training skills to assist users over the phone and through electronic training methods (videos)
Familiarity with Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations
Experience
Three years of experience in public schools and/or private sector in a similar job function
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Analysis
- Ensure Skyward Qmlativ processes align with district procedures, TEA/TSDS reporting requirements, and campus operational needs.
- Assist in prioritizing system issues, enhancement requests, and training needs based on district impact.
- Participate in planning and implementation of system changes, integrations, and process improvements.
- Create, maintain, and update technical manuals and documentation for Skyward Qmlativ Student.
- Maintain awareness of changes in Texas Education Agency (TEA) reporting rules and assist in integrating updates into data workflows.
- Application Support
- Assist campus and administrative staff in all functions of Skyward Qmlativ Student application.
- Communicate with administrative and clerical personnel to determine processing needs, clarify requests, develop solutions, and provide technical assistance.
- Coordinate student systems related issues with vendor, including identification of and assistance with the resolution of program problems, design of systems enhancements, and implementation of system enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain training documentation as well as deliver quality training to the end user community.
- Communicate the system status and keep users informed of downtime or changes to the system.
- Data Security
- Monitor use of data and regulate access to safeguard information in district student systems.
- Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network safety.
- Stay up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards.

- Promote departmental culture of customer service through frequent communication, positive relationships, and prompt support.
- Demonstrate skills in conflict resolution with administrators and campus staff.
- Proactively identify process improvement opportunities, including end-user training and documentation.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. New technology equipment and devices as acquired by the district.
Posture: Frequent sitting and standing; occasionally bending/stooping, pushing, /pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather), exposure to noise; occasional district-wide and statewide travel; ability to transport materials/supplies to be used in presentations and in work sessions with teachers.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data; coordinate campus functions; ability to problem solve, to work collaboratively with others, and to work on multiple projects/tasks within a given period.
