School Instructional Assistant

Maple School Library is seeking a warm, organized Instructional Assistant to support our librarian in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for middle school students. In this role, you will help students select books, assist with circulation and shelving, support literacy activities, and help maintain an orderly, inviting library space. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, communicates clearly with students and staff, and brings enthusiasm for fostering a lifelong love of reading.

Start Date: September 14, 2026
Schedule: [6.5 hours per day, 185 days per year]
Contract Type: Full-time, 10-month non-exempt position
Hourly Wage Range: $21.57-$39.08
Starting rate based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional License registered with Region 05 North Cook ISC
