Substitute Custodian

Essential Functions

1. Perform duties as outlined by the building fireperson/head custodian in the work schedule including routine maintenance of the building, repair of equipment, and all phases of housekeeping.

2. Assist in snow and ice removal from walks, steps, and entryways around the building.

3. Be available for emergency duty as needed.

4. Report building maintenance and grounds concerns to the fireperson/head custodian or principal and correct the condition/if possible.

5. Monitor the building and campus area to promote safety, health, and comfort of students and employees.

6. Help unload trucks; receive, check, and store supplies.

7. Secure the building each day if applicable.

8. Clean and maintain custodial equipment and materials.

9. Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.

10. Assist in moving furniture and equipment.

11. Complete reports and forms as required.
