Speech Pathologist Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Pathologist Assistant to join our team at Grayson County SSA. In this full-time role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to support individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders. Your contributions will be vital in helping clients achieve their communication goals and improve their overall quality of life.

• Responsibilities
• Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in implementing treatment plans for clients with speech and language disorders.
• Conduct therapy sessions as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, focusing on enhancing communication skills.
• Monitor and document client progress, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
• Prepare materials and resources for therapy sessions, ensuring that they are engaging and effective.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and educators to provide comprehensive support for clients.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and agency policies.
• Assist in the assessment process by gathering relevant information and providing support during evaluations.
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment for clients and their families, promoting open communication and collaboration.

• Requirements
• Associate's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
• Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification.
• Previous experience in a clinical or educational setting preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficient in using technology and software for documentation and communication purposes.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
