Food Service Substitute

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Substitute in the Food Service Department at Deer River Schools. As a substitute, you will step in to support the food service team during absences, ensuring that daily operations continue smoothly and efficiently.

• Responsibilities
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with established guidelines and menus.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, following all health and safety regulations.
• Support the food service team in meal planning and preparation, including special dietary needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager or other supervisory staff.

• Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in food service or a similar role is a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
• Must pass a background check and meet any additional district-specific requirements.
