Hutchison Public Schools is looking for Emergency Short Call Substitute Teachers!

Have you been a Paraeducator for one year or more and are interested in becoming an Emergency Short Call Substitute Teacher? If so, the required license can be acquired through the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB). Emergency short call substitute licenses are valid for three years. The initial fee for first-time applicants is $89.00 and available on the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) website.

To serve as an emergency short-call substitute, the candidate must:

• Hold an associate's degree or equivalent and has or will receive substitute training from the hiring school district or charter school; or,
• Hold a minimum of a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency and has at least one academic year of employment as an Education Support Professional (ESP) or a paraprofessional in the hiring district.

The salary range for this position is $33.50 per hour to $62.40 per hour, depending on education and experience. Substitute opportunities are available at all buildings and the number of hours and days per year will vary based on needs.
