PAY SCALE: $16.25/ Hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

*Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm (4-hour shift)

TYPICAL DUTIES:

An Adult Education Classroom Assistant provides support to instructors in evening career training programs. They assist instructor with various tasks and functions, including:

• Observation and coaching to support the safety of students within the classroom and lab areas
• Development of lesson plans and delivery of instruction within established curriculum guidelines
• Preparation of classroom materials and supplies for classroom and laboratory instruction � including handouts, electronic materials, lab materials, etc.
• Interacting with students, providing one-on-one support and observing projects in lab
• Maintaining equipment in the classroom
• Maintaining inventory of consumable supplies needed for class including contacting vendors for materials and quotes.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

MUST BE A CURRENT BOCES CTE STUDENT (JUNIOR OR SENIOR RECOMMENDED BY THEIR INSTRUCTOR)

• Currently enrolled in good standing entering as a second-year student in relevant high school CTE program (per work-based learning requirements)
• Knowledgeable and skilled in the content area
• Recommended by high school CTE teacher
• Possess leadership, professionalism, communication and initiative
