Speech-Language Pathologist (Part and/or Full-Time), 10 months/yr. (RSY 26-27)

Pay Scale: $47,500 - $67,500 / Year (by FTE), Based on Experience

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech and language evaluation and intervention services to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Services may be delivered in individual, small-group, classroom-based, and/or itinerant settings and may include support related to assistive communication technology.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

• Provide speech and language evaluations and therapeutic intervention for students with disabilities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals related to speech, language, and communication.
• Provide individual and group therapy services aligned with student IEPs.
• Participate in CSE/CPSE meetings, annual reviews, and other meetings as required.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to support communication goals across instructional settings.
• Assist classroom staff in developing instructional strategies to promote speech, language, and communication development.
• Support the selection, implementation, and use of assistive and augmentative communication (AAC) systems and other communication-related assistive technology, in collaboration with instructional and related service staff .
• Provide guidance to staff and students regarding the effective use of communication-related assistive technology, as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, service logs, and required reports.
• Complete Medicaid documentation and billing in accordance with district procedures, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, and students regarding speech and language needs and progress.
• Coordinate, as appropriate, with outside speech, hearing, medical, and assistive technology agencies involved in student services.
• Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations related to special education, Medicaid reimbursement, and confidentiality
• Perform other professional duties as assigned by Exceptional Children Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

NYS Speech And Language Disabilities Certificate and NYS License as Speech-Language Pathologist

Prior experience providing speech-language services to students with disabilities preferred
